Voyage Length
This years World Cruise is 74 days long, compared to the majority of World Cruises which have been around 100+ days in length.
We have added a twelve-day cruise prior to the start of this years World Cruise to make our end-to-end journey a total of 86 days.
Itinerary
The other major difference is the itinerary. Unlike previous World Cruises where the itinerary included visits to ports in several areas of the world, this years journey is largely concentrated to South America.
In fact, when first announced, rather than calling this a World Cruise it was referred to as Grand Voyage.
While it is true that these two items differ from prior World Cruises, this years voyage does have many similar characteristics and attributes that in the end makes this a World Cruise adventure.
These characteristics include a large percentage of guests who will be on for more than one World Cruise segment including those sailing the entire World Cruise. In fact, we understand that approximately 400+ guests will be on-board for the full World Cruise making this the highest number of guests taking a Crystal Cruises World Cruise in the 23 years that World Cruises have been offered. All-in-all, this promotes the ability to build strong bonds and personal relationships and to share experiences between fellow guests, fellow crew members, and between guests and crew members alike that are characteristic of a World Cruise sailing.
At the same time this years World Cruise will include many of the expanded enrichment and entertainment programs that are only found on World Cruises along with several special on-board and shore side events.
Unlike previous World Cruises, this years adventure will provide the ability to spend more time on land primarily in South America which allows for greater discovery in contrast to other cruises which would stop at fewer ports within one continent. This years itinerary also features several overnights providing guests with more opportunities to do additional touring of specific ports of call and/or the ability to do additional overlands without having to miss other ports of call.
We are very excited about this years adventure and look forward to experiencing this very special journey and sharing this with each of your. As we mentioned previously, we will visit several new ports for the very first time and also have the opportunity to revisit ports that we have been to before.
We are including a few photos taken when we sailed this area of the World on the 2007 World Cruise. We have also been to some of these locations as part of the 2010 World Cruise and we have also visited South America on yet another cruise and Keith also visited there on business.
